Abdollah Azaari Ahvazi, CEO of the Arvandan Oil and Gas Company, told IRNA on Sunday that the company will develop the Arvandkenar oilfield, which is located at the southern end of the West Karoun region,
Azaari Ahvazi said that a tender for drilling a new well and repairing an existing well in the oilfield is underway under an Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) contract, adding that 11 domestic firms have declared their readiness to become involved in the project.
According to the official, the average daily production in the South Azadegan oilfield, which is located in the same petroleum region and is connected to an oilfield in neighboring Iraq, has increased by 10,000 barrels per day (bpd), adding that another 10,000 barrels will be added to the production capacity of the oilfield by the end of September.
He said that current production capacity from oilfields in the West Karoun Region is more than 400,000 bpd.
Arvandan Oil and Gas Company is considered the second-largest producer in the country following the National Iranian South Oil Company.
